QEB pips Indian Arrows

Quess East Bengal defeated Indian Arrows 1-0 in the Hero I League match played today at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan. With this win QEBFC climbed up to 2nd position with 22 points from 12 matches.

After playing second fiddle for most of the first half QEBFC came back strongly after the breather and Jaime Santos Colado scored the winner of a Jobby Justin assist. QEBFC dominated the remaining part of the game but could not add to the tally.

Manoj Mohammad (QEBFC) was given marching orders in added time after two yellow cards .Jaime Santos Colado and Lalramchullova were also booked.

Borja Perez Gomez of QEB was adjudged Hero of the Match.

Menendez: We are still in hunt for title

Quess East Bengal FC will clash with Indian Arrows in their 12th match of I League on 18th January 2019 (Friday). The match will kick off at 5 pm at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK).

In the Pre Match Press Conference held today, QEBFC Head Coach Alejandro Menendez told, “We will go for three points tomorrow and also need it to build confidence before the derby. The team will be more confident for the game if we can get three points. But we will go step by step.”

He further added, “We are still in the hunt for the league title. There are many matches to play and some are between the teams who are fighting for the league. So if we play well, we have a chance.”

On their opponent Arrows he commented, “They are a good team and are strong and very competitive. So it will be a tough match for us."

Quess East Bengal Academy (North Bengal) were held to an 1-1 draw by Prince FC in the Group B league match of the Samtse Championship 2019 played on Tuesday at Samtse Football Ground, Bhutan.

Bikram Sarkar gave the QEB North Bengal Academy boys the lead in the 22nd minute while Abinsh Kujur restored parity for the Bhutanese side in the 84th minute.

In their next matches in the tournament Quess East Bengal Academy (North Bengal) will meet Thimpu City FC on 18th January at 3 pm.
