EB colts lose Mini Derby

Quess East Bengal U-18 narrowly lost to Mohun Bagan U-18 by 0-1 margin in the AIFF U-18 Youth League Derby at East Bengal ground today.

Lalthankhuma Duhvela scored the only goal of the match late in the first half.

QEB U-18 is currently placed 3rd in the table with 11 points from 7 matches with three more rounds to go.

U-18 Youth League Mini Derby

East Bengal U-18 will take on arch rivals Mohun Bagan U-18 in the mini derby tomorrow in U-18 Youth League.

On the eve of the match both coaches of the junior brigades are confident of earning the bragging rights.

In the pre-match press meet today East Bengal U-18 coach Ranjan Chowdhury said, "We expect both teams to play quality football as it will give the juniors an opportunity to catch the eyes of senior team recruiters. We will definitely try to snatch a win as we have won the previous encounter. I also urge the fans of both the teams to keep their calm and keep the sportsman spirit and not to behave unruly. We are prepared and expecting a competitive game."

Mohun Bagan assistant coach Subhas Sinha Roy told, "We will definitely try to get three points tomorrow. He also urged the fans of both the teams to keep their calm and watch the game in the true spirit of the game."

East Bengal General Secretary Mr. Kalyan Majumdar urged to the fans of both teams to come in numbers to watch the game and maintain calm & peace so that no untoward incident happens. East Bengal Club has already informed the concerned government authorities to beef up the security for this game and will take strict action against any individual who tries to disturb peace during the match.

The match will kick off at 2.30 pm at East Bengal ground tomorrow.
QEB lose to Aizawl FC

Quess East Bengal lost to Aizawl FC by 3-2 margin in the Hero I League match played today at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Aizawl.

L. Dodoz (26’), J. Zoherliana (73’) & Lalkhawpuimawia (84’) scored for Aizawl FC while Jobby Justin (62’) and Borja Gomez (70’) scored for the red & golds.

With this loss QEBFC continue to remain in the 4th position in the table with 6 points from four matches.

The match started in an even note till Aizawl went ahead in the 26th minute when Dodoz scored after snatching the rebound from QEBFC goal keeper Ubaid who could only parry a stiff shot of an Aizawl forward.

QEBFC appeared to have a legitimate goal disallowed in the first half after Laramchullova's pile driver from a set piece crashed into the goal after striking the underside of the bar. Jobby Justin restored parity for QEBFC when he nodded in a Lalramchullova's free kick.

Seven minutes later Borja Comez put the visitors ahead when he scored of a melee in front of the Aizawl goal. J. Zoherliana in the 73rd minute and Lalkhawpuimawia in the 84th scored for the hosts.

Enrique Esqueda, Lalrindika Ralta, Brandon of QEBFC and David Lalrinmuana, H. Mawia, Alfred Jaryan of Aizawl FC were booked in the match.

Leonce Dodoz of Aizawl FC was adjudged Hero of the Match.
